We are a non-profit information and resource centre that supports self-determination for adults with physical disabilities based upon the principles of choice, equality, co-operation and mutual respect. Our office is a warm and inviting space where members meet new people, develop life-long friendships, and celebrate their abilities! We believe in equality, and the fundamental rights of all people regardless of physical ability. We believe in the active involvement and full participation of persons with physical disabilities in any efforts on their behalf. We believe that volunteers are essential partners in developing, delivering, and advocating the work of KW AccessAbility in the community.

WHAT BENEFIT DOES KW ACCESSABILITY PROVIDE OUR COMMUNITY?

We provide a continuum of safe and enjoyable programmes and services that educate, foster personal growth, and build confidence, self-esteem, and good health. We strive to be responsive to the needs of individuals and the community as a whole. Our programmes include: numerous recreational opportunities, health and wellness seminars, fitness and cooking classes, computer training as well as computer refurbishing, and we have public access computers too. We also provide advocacy and employment services.

Sponsors of KW AccessAbility benefit from the knowledge that their generosity makes a real difference that helps to build a strong, vibrant community for our members. Sponsors can also be assured that all of the proceeds go directly to fund the many programmes and activities that enable the members to engage in social interactions that help build a sense of belonging to those too often isolated in our community.
